January 27th - February 2nd, 2025
Golf Tournament
The golf tournament is a two-man, 5-day event consisting of a scramble on day 1, a shamble on day 2, and then best-balls on days 3-5. Handicaps are converted to the course slopes, and scorecards are marked accordingly for each round of play. Entry into the golf tournament is included in the pre-paid entry fee.
The overall tournament payout will be a result of the team combined score after the five days. There will be two closest-to-the-pin contests each day. *Note: A single person can only win a maximum of two closest-to-the-pin contests throughout the tournament. The first two days will include day money while the best-ball days will include gross and net skins with the daily skin value calculated based on the total number of skins awarded for that day.
Based on the weather, we will determine the afternoon for the Punchbowl putting tournament. The tournament will be a team best-ball event with payouts to the top 3 team best-ball scores. If there is a tie for either 1st, 2nd or 3rd, there will be a sudden death playoff on the selected hole.

Important Rules
The most important rule to know: All lost balls can be played as lateral hazards. This includes shots into gorse bushes, unmarked areas, off huge cliffs, and even out-of-bounds areas marked by white stakes.
RULE: The player may under penalty of one stroke:
a. Proceed under the stroke and distance provision of Rule 27-1 by playing a ball as nearly as possible at the spot from which the original ball was last played; or
b. Drop a ball behind the water hazard, keeping the point at which the original ball last crossed the margin of the water hazard directly between the hole and the spot on which the ball is dropped, with no limit to how far behind the water hazard the ball may be dropped; or
c. Drop a ball outside the water hazard within two club-lengths of and not nearer the hole than (i) the point where the original ball last crossed the margin of the water hazard or (ii) a point on the opposite margin of the water hazard equidistant from the hole.
The second most important rule to know: The tournament cannot end in a tie. In the event two teams are tied at the end of the final round, both teams will enter into a sudden death playoff. If the course is unable to accommodate a sudden death playoff, then the next agreeable option between the teams will take place.
PRIMARY: If the course is agreeable, both teams will play the final (or nearby) hole again. The lowest combined net team score of the hole will determine the tournament champion. If the hole ends in a tie, the teams will play an additional hole and continue to repeat the process until a champion is determined.
SECONDARY: If the course is not agreeable to the teams playing an additional hole, then the teams will agree on a fair competition to determine the winner. This could include playing sudden death at the free par-3 course (if open), a 3-hole putting playoff at the Punch Bowl, or a chip-and-putt contest on the green of the final course hole. The tournament committee will help handicap the chosen event for the different teams competing in the playoff.
The third most important rule to know: Each team must have at least one player finish each round. If a team fails to record a score on one of the holes in a given round, that team will be forced to withdraw from the tournament and be unable to win final team payout prizes. Members of a withdrawn team will still be able to compete for closest-to-the-pin, skins, and day money prizes.
The fourth most important rule to know: At the conclusion of either of the first two rounds of play, the tournament committee, which is made up of highly respected and logical tournament participants, can decide to adjust the tournament handicap of any participant. Many factors will be considered, including existing play in the current tournament and prior tournament scores. Any adjustment will be administered to all future rounds of play in the existing tournament.
The fifth most important rule to know: A member of the previous years championship team cannot have a handicap increase from the prior year. In the event a handicap of the prior champion team member increases, it will be reduced to the prior year's handicap for the current year's tournament.
The sixth most important rule to know: Scorecards must be submitted to the course clubhouse attendant or handed directly to Bear or Nate at the completion of each round. We aren't going to chase you all over the resort grounds trying to get scorecards (Danitz!) If you fail to turn in your scorecard at the completion of your round, you'll owe "Man Services" to the entire group that evening.
Putting Tournament
On Wednesday afteroon, immediately following the round at Pacific Dunes, there will be a putting tournament at the Punchbowl (located at Pacific Dunes).
The Punchbowl putting tournament will be played as a 2-man bestball event. All players will hit their tee shots, and the second shots will be played in order from closest in to farthest away. All holes will be a par 2. All teams will keep their score relative to par and report their final score after the 18th hole (ie. -3, +4, etc.).
Make sure to stick around for all groups to finish because all ties will be settled with a sudden death playoff on #1 or any available hole that is unoccupied.
Note: No team can play by themselves, and any team(s) not at the Punchbowl by 4:30 will be subject to forfeiture at the discretion of the tournament organizers.
Note: If a single team member decides to "vag" out and no-show, a single team member can represent the team, but he will be playing his own ball only.
Poker Tournament
On Tuesday and Thursday evenings, immediately following the arranged dinners, there will be a poker tournament in the Spackler's Bastards loft. Entry into both poker tournaments is included in the pre-paid tournament fee. Snacks and drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) will be provided each night, as well as a selection of movies for those who get "river'd" early.
Two tables of 12 players will begin play. Once each table reaches 5 players, the final table of 10 players will be setup. After an individual table reaches 5 players, they will pause and wait for the other table to reduce to 5 players. Chips for each player will be carried over from their initial tables to the final table. Late players will be blinded into the game until they arrive. After 30 minutes of play, if players have still not arrived, their chips will be removed from the table and they will be out of the tournament.
Chip counts will be established at the beginning of each poker tournament. The blinds will be raised every half hour and the minimum bet per hand is the big blind. There is no maximum bet.

2nd Place: $80
3rd Place: $70
4th Place: $60
5th Place: $50
6th Place: $40
7th Place: $30
